Online casinos operating out of the UK are relieved with France’s decision to open its online gambling industry to other countries.  Previously, gambling in France was monopolized by their national lottery.
 

The UK blames slow times for the online casino industry on the current recession and believes that the addition of French gamblers will increase the activity on their gambling websites.  Online casinos that operate out of the UK will now have the option of expanding their business to France.  To improve their revenue, these online casinos will have to work hard to recruit new players.  Previously, gamblers in France simply played casino games operated by the national lottery so UK operators will have to come up with innovative strategies for convincing them to switch sides.

 
Assuming the national lottery did not have to offer bonuses (they were a monopoly so there was nowhere else for gamblers in France to take their business), then this is probably the way that online casinos from the UK will find the most successful. 

 
Gamblers who have grown accustomed to choosing from many online casinos have always had the option to choose from the sites with the best reputations and who offered the best sign-up and other bonuses.  Now, online gamblers in France will have the same luxury and can therefore inadvertently improve the economy while still finding a casino that suits them.
