Two Gamblers arguing in court about 2.2 million Euros or how to end a friendship
Thursday, December 17th, 2009The next time you are planning a night out with your friends you should remember this article as it could save your friendship. Two friends in France decided to have a blast at the Palavas-les-Flot casino and found each other back in court arguing about their profits.
Marie-Hélène Jarguel and Francis Sune decided to play the slots but only one of them had
the cash. So they decided that Marie puts in the cash and Francis pushes the buttons without thinking about the possibility that they could actually hit the jackpot.
Low and behold, after risking 50 Euros at one of the slots, the famous slots sign 7 came up on every single reel and bestowed them the jackpot of 2, 2 million Euros. However, when they tried to cash out, the casino was only willing to issue them one single cheque and the disaster began.
Francis asked Marie for his share of the winnings, but she refused and the battle began. Francis got himself a lawyer to fight for his right because it was him who was pushing the buttons. But Marie argued that it was her who was risking the money.
In the end the court decided that Marie had to give 20% to her “Friend” who said that this is a nice gift just before Christmas.
We are sure that these two won’t make the same mistake twice in their lives and that’s why we recommend that each of you should risk your own money when it comes to gambling.
It is legal to gamble in Casinos in France and within a year it should also be possible to do the same online as the French government is currently trying to legalize online gambling.
